From the world of COBI comes a kit of the famous American M60 Patton tank. Using high quality prints rather than stickers this model will really please those builders who like detail in their kits. The high quality of this model means that the prints do not wear after time or with play from little one’s hands. The tank is equipped with a swivel tower, an opening hatch, a movable barrel and a working caterpillar tracks. Two figures are included in the set. They are an American soldier in a bulletproof vest equipped with an M16 rifle and an air cavalry officer.
The M60 Patton tank was created in response to the T-62 tank designed in the Soviet Union. The construction was based on the M48 model, which underwent a deep modification. A larger 105 mm cannon and new engine were installed. The armour of the tower and hull were also redesigned and reinforced. The new vehicle entered into service in 1960. More than 15,000 M60s were produced (in all versions).
During the Vietnam War, American Marines were equipped with the M60. Later on, the modernized M60 tanks took part in Operation "Desert Storm" and in the liberation of Kuwait. Since 1970 the M60 under the name of Magach has been used in Israel, where it underwent further advanced modifications. The M60 Patton tanks still serve in armies of many countries of the world.
